The company Lincoln Renewable Natural Gas has filed a petition to construct a renewable natural gas plant at a farm in Salisbury.
If the plant is approved by the Vermont Public Service Board, it would be just the second of its kind in the United States.

A New York paper mill is slated to receive truckloads of compressed natural gas beginning next month as a workaround for a canceled underground gas pipeline.

Vermont Gas Systems announced today it will not proceed with its proposal to build Phase 2 of its proposed pipeline expansion project from Middlebury to International Paper's plant in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

South Burlington and Milton, VT– Farmers, a hard-cider producer and Middlebury College will begin to receive natural gas service sooner than they had expected.
For the first time in the nation, a local natural gas distribution company (LDC) and a "virtual pipeline" provider have partnered to provide natural gas to new customers — in advance of a pipeline extension.

Compressed natural gas (CNG) is paving the streets in the center of Rutland, Vermont, running the largest commercial laundry in the state, as well as heating the hospital - and there is no gas pipeline in the area.
The gas is arriving because of NG Advantage'svirtual pipeline, consisting of a fleet of high-tech tractor/trailers.
