HP Hood Plant in Lafargeville, NY Converts From Burning Fuel Oil to Cleaner, Less Expensive Natural Gas

NG Advantage to Truck CNG to HP Hood Plant Not on a Gas Pipeline

For immediate release: June 16, 2014 - Milton, VT and Lafargeville, NY

HP Hood’s plant in Lafargeville, NY is converting from fuel oil to compressed natural gas (CNG) as a boiler fuel. CNG is much less expensive than fuel oil so the plant will be more competitive. After the conversion, the plant will emit 26% less CO2, much less SO2 and NOx, and almost no particulates.
